Services for Egon (Dad and Opa)

The New Family wishes to express sincere gratitude to everyone that supported Mom and her family during this process.

Mom's coworkers sent her a fruit basket "floral" arrangement.

Thank you TJC Team One!

It came with chocolate dipped apples, strawberries, bananas.

At the funeral home, Dad took pictures.

Having been through this once before, when Mom's Mother passed, Dad knew that these pictures would have to be taken to have a record and to express gratitude to gift givers. Mom and her siblings put the picture boards together.

Pictured above is Egon and Dianne in young love. Opa was a huge Beatles fan so Mom's sister bought the frame, "All you need is love".

Pictured above on the left is when Opa and Heidi's brother took a trip to Las Vegas and on the right is Oma & Opa's wedding day - March 24, 1973.  

There were beautiful flowers everywhere. Opa's Mom (Oma Theresa) passed on her love of flowers to him.

Opa has Gone to the Lord

ON August 25th, at 11:10 a.m., Heidi's father Egon passed away.

Following his knee surgery, he complained about fatigue and indeed was anemic.

Shortly thereafter, he discovered he had difficulty swallowing. That prompted tests that lead to the discovery of cancer.

The doctor's believe he had esophageal cancer that spread to his lungs, liver, and bones.

He will be sorely missed.

THE New Family Boy still prefers to pull the blocks apart rather than assemble them.

Eagle eyed readers will notice the absence of the dark yoga mats in their play space. Buddy took to chewing on them so they are now gone.

Also gone are the clutter of toys that impeded free movement around the play space. They'll be back when the Twins are yet again bored with the novelty of the area. For now, it is a clean space.

Fine Motor Skills

BUGGY has learned how to put the blocks together and not just pull them apart.

Peek A Boo!

EJ discovered the fun of being the Peek A Boo initiator. He loves to cover his own face only to suddenly reveal it to Dad.

OPA

LIFE has been chaotic for the The New Family this past month. Heidi's Dad and the Twins Grandfather (Opa) has been sick and in and out of the skilled care nursing home and hospital.

His situation is dire.

Dad has been asked not to reveals details until there is finality to the situation, and will respect that choice. Anyone curious about the details, or wanting to well wish Heidi can call (text, e-mail, etc.) her to do so.
